*What Research Tells Us
A cohort of over 6000 women who had passed through natural menopause in Australia found that adherence to a Mediterranean Diet decreased the risk of experiencing VMS (vasomotor symptoms, such as hot flashes and night sweats) by 20%!
Also found in the study was that high adherence to the Mediterranean Diet by women reduced their relative risk of coronary heart disease and acute myocardial infarction (MI) by 30 % and of stroke by 17 %.

MEET YOUR MEAL PLAN MAVEN
Hi, I’m Christine!
I’m thrilled to be creating menopause-friendly meals for women everywhere! With a focus on using food to feel good from the inside out, you’re going to find healthy-ish meals that are easy to prepare and even easier to enjoy. If you’re looking for healthier recipes for one and two, you’re in the right place.
I’ve been teaching cooking for a long, long time, and I am still excited to cook, teach, and share with you. If I know anything, I know food! Have a question? I’ll work hard to give you an answer so that you’re better and more confident in the kitchen. Hey, it’s a meal not a mortgage, so there’s nothing to stress about and only fun to be had.
After experiencing a heart attack in 2020, I’ve reformed my butter-loving, heavy cream worshiping ways by making changes to how I cook, taking things in a healthier direction, without doing a complete 180 and still keeping things flavorful and delightful.
The key here is healthier. I’m not afraid of butter, but I’m using a touch instead of stick. A tablespoon or two of cream or half-and-half, not a cup, and so on and so forth. And now that the kids are grown and living lives on their own, I’m re-learning how to cook for two. I’ve even dug into food as medicine in training through the American College of Culinary Medicine. My capstone project? Menopause and the Mediterranean Diet!
Working with people in the kitchen is one of my very favorite things to do in the entire world, and I love the connection that food and cooking bring.
I’m delighted to get to know you as we march on this journey together toward eating well and fueling our bodies to conquer and manage menopause.
