Hi, I’m Christine!

I’ve got twenty-five years of experience in professional kitchens, fifteen of those running my own cooking school in Frederick, Maryland. I'm culinary medicine certified, which is a chef-side credential about how food actually works in heart-healthy, kidney-friendly, low-sodium, and blood-sugar-aware cooking.

I focus on the Mediterranean diet because that’s the diet doctors keep telling mid-life women to eat, and it has made a huge difference in my own life as well

I

In 2020, just days after my fifty-third birthday, I suffered a widowmaker heart attack. Talk about eye-opening!

Rebuilding my kitchen to center on the Mediterranean diet took time, but concentrating on feel-good food, both inside and out, became my mission. No supplements, no seed-oil panic, no protocols of the month. Just real food that tastes fantastic, is quick to get on the table, and helps us usher in a successful second half of our lives.

I teach women how to cook for the body and the table we have right now. One or two people, and real Mediterranean ingredients used the way they're supposed to be used: Olive oil, generously. Real fish twice a week (don’t worry if you’re a fish hater - I’ve got a plan for that!). Vegetables roasted properly. Salt, when it belongs. If that sounds like the kitchen you want to be in, the ENK Collective is where the real learning happens.

I’ve earned my CCMP (Certified Culinary Medicine Professional) certification from The American College of Culinary Medicine, and focused my study on Menopause and the Mediterranean Diet (here’s a hint: it’s awesome!).

I’ve developed recipes for decades, have written for numerous local publications, and even had a stint on local cable back in the day. After a career in advertising in NYC and in my beloved adopted hometown of Frederick, MD, I made the switch to cooking professionally, both as a personal chef and a cooking instructor, and have never looked back.

I attended cooking school in my New York City days and loved being immersed in a world of French foods and learning critical techniques. Working with people in the kitchen is one of my very favorite things to do in the entire world, and I love the connection that food and cooking bring.

I’m thrilled to get to know you as we march on this journey together. Now, let’s cook shall we? Woo hoo!!
