The French Martini

It’s time for our February Cocktail of the Month, and this month, I’m throwing it back to the late aughts with one of my favorite go-to cocktails: the French Martini.

She may be pretty, but she packs a punch, so sip carefully.

As I’m sure you can tell by my choices the last few months, I lean toward a sipper full of booze. Careful though, as sippers full of booze knock your socks off…quickly.

This month I had raspberry on the brain, which doesn’t seem to fit with February until you start thinking about Valentine’s Day. Love and all that Hallmark stuff make me think of berries and chocolate, but I refused to go chocolate cocktail, because there has to be a line somewhere. Amiright?

For this drink we need just three ingredients:

  • Vodka

  • Chambord (or other raspberry liquor, but come on…you’re worth it!)

  • Pineapple juice

Simply load your cocktail shaker full of ice, add your ingredients and get to shaking. Garnish with some raspberries if you’re feeling the vibe. Quantities are listed below.

For those who grew up in a time other than the 80’s & 90’s, Chambord is a black raspberry-flavored cordial. It’s handy stuff to have around if you like something a little fruity and a fun addition to any bar cart.

Mix one up yourself and be sure to let me know what you think. I’m already eyeing up Whiskey & Guinness-themed drinks for March, so be prepared!

Stay well and stay hydrated!
